Kuuvik Capture 4 App Reviews
I bought this program after reading about it on a photographer’s forum. Part of the appeal is that Version 2.0 was designed with the 50 megapixel Canon 5DSr in mind. This camera generates 225MB raw files. Kuuvik Capture 2 handles the files quickly, images appear a few seconds after the capture bar is hit, much faster than Lightroom for example. This is a capture program with ideal features and camera controls: So far I’ve tried live view, auto focus select point, focus peaking for manual focus, , an intervalometer, mirror lock up with variable times. Everything works as advertised. You can choose from full manual, aperture preferred or shutter preferred functions, as on the Canon cameras. I noted only one minor issue, a tendency for the AF to hunt in a tight shot in lower light. The AF on the camera snapped into place right away. I don’t know what the reason is, but it would be a minor inconvenience for most photographers. Based on my experience, and I’ve used many capture programs in the past 10 years, I’d recommend Kuuvik 2.0 highly.
Have been using Kuuvik Capture 2 with my Canon 6D and have found it to be a very well put together program. It functions flawlessly with my camera. There is no manual however and that would be a help to learn some of the not so obvious functions of the program. Highly recommend.
I can’t say enough good things about this app. For high-resolution tethered macro shooting, it’s absolutely perfect. The live view features are stunning: The RAW histogram, focus peaking and highlight/shadow clipping masks are extremely accurate and intuitive. This app is snappy, retina-ready, has an excellent workflow and is a huge timesaver.
